  1. What does the Seminole Soil and Water Conservation District do?

    We are an independent state agency which is responsible for carrying out a variety of natural resource stewardship programs here in Seminole County.

    The Seminole Soil and Water Conservation District is an independent state agency which serves all of Seminole County in the area of the conservation and stewardship of our natural resources. We use our resources to help both the residents and the community leaders in the county and in each city to use the natural resources wisely.*

    Specifically:
    o to promote the appropriate and efficient use of soil and water resources.
    o protect water quality,
    o prevent floodwater and sediment damage,
    o preserve wildlife,
    o protect public lands, and
    o protect and promote the health, safety, and general welfare of the people of this state.
